MINI JOBS: STATUTORY HOLIDAY
Presented for Salon d’été in Paris during Paris+
19.10.24
This series of "Mini Jobs" performances constituted a meditation on the statutory holiday—a sanctioned pause in the machinery of labour, where one is compensated not for productivity but for absence. It is an ode to the suspension of corporate function, a conservative pause designed for rest and reflection, an existential break from the “Man”. In the context of this performance event, the holiday becomes an interlude: a call to inhabit time differently, to put into question the controlled concept of “time off” within western employment structures, nurturing both the banal and the surreal.
